For almost two decades the Gold Coast transformed itself into a horsepower heaven for four days of October, to stage the Indy Car and V8 Supercar event. But now the Indy cars have gone, the A1GP cars didn't even come and now it's all V8 Supercar action in the GC600!
The former Gold Coast Indy 300 weekend was renowned for four days and nights of action and excitement both on and off track. It doesn't look like changing!
On track will be the Australian V8 Supercars in two 300km battles. Off track will be an endless array of action from official events through to all the entertainment hotspots that Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach are renowned for.

The Gold Coast absolutely explodes at this time of year and accommodation, especially on track accommodation or apartments with track views, should be booked some time in advance to secure. Booking in advance can sometimes save some cash, as everything seems to go up prior to the event. For apartments on track you will require special passes to access your accommodation, so be sure to get these. If Surfers or Main Beach is booked out, or outside the budget, take a look at Broadbeach and Mermaid Beach which are still close, by transport, to the track.

With the massive influx of visitors transport systems are stretched beyond limit. Airport transfers should be booked well in advance and expect to strike delays with traffic congestion. If you are driving to the event, parking is provided in outer lying suburbs and shuttles will run you to the track although plan for congestion and delays.
